Graveyard Jonnys, The Dukes of Bordello, The Sons of El’Rocho, Thieves By The Code

Another trip to the South Sea, this time to see a bunch of guys playing some awesome noisy rock and roll. A teeny bit of a departure from the Heavy Metal bands I’ve been mostly photographing, but still something I definitely enjoyed.

Lighting was again tough in the South Sea on the left hand side of the stage, but after hassling one of the sound guys after Thieves By The Code had finished I managed to get some of the lights lifted a bit to illuminate that part of the stage better. I’m not sure the green patterned light was helping though with that side as it was adding quite a bit of texture to the photos making them a little harder to see. It looked good to the crowd though, and that’s what’s really important.

Oh, I learned something on this shoot: Double basses are awesome to photograph!

Thanks 🙂

Yeah, lighting is really the photographers problem, not the venues. Some places don’t have any at all so it’s down to the person taking the photo to do the best job they can I guess.
